Jacksonville Realtor Takes Office As President-Elect
of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2009 – Wendell Davis, a broker with Watson Realty Corp. in Jacksonville, has been installed as 2009 president-elect of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association with more than 150,000 members.

Davis is a member of the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors® (NEFAR). His history of numerous leadership positions on the national, state and local levels stretches back to 1992. He’s no stranger to FAR executive leadership, having served as state treasurer in 2007 and state secretary in 2005. In 2008, he chaired an information exchange between presidents of local associations on behalf of the FAR.

Nationally, Davis has participated as a National Association of Realtors® (NAR) director for NEFAR for the past eight years and has served on committees addressing issues of transportation, federal taxation and property management. He has participated for many years in numerous activities with NAR, the national level of the Realtor organization.

As president-elect, Davis wants to help FAR add information courses, continuing education courses and designation courses online to better serve Realtor members’ efforts to enhance their knowledge and professionalism. He said he will continue to lobby elected officials to remove obstacles and restrictions in legislation that hinder real estate professionals’ ability to assist consumers effectively and efficiently.

He offers this advice to FAR members for 2009: “Be proactive in prospecting for business, improve your knowledge of your subject area and never forget your professionalism, no matter how tough it gets.”
