Miami Realtor Takes Office as President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Frank E. Kowalski, broker-owner of Metro Dade Realty Inc. in Miami, has been installed as 2005 president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association with more than 120,000 members.

Kowalski is a member of the Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches. He has served the local association in numerous capacities, including as president. On the state level, Kowalski served FAR in many leadership roles, including as vice-chair of the Building Committee in 2003. He has been chairman of the Strategic Planning and Florida Statute 475 Rewrite committees for the state association and a member of numerous other committees. He also served as a district vice president for FAR. Kowalski has been a member and chairman of the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC) and has served as president nationally of the Council of Residential Specialists (CRS). Nationally, he is a director with the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and has served on several NAR committees.

In the community, Kowalski has been the director and president of Elephant Forum, a Pop Warner football coach and an adjunct instructor with Miami-Dade Community College.

Reflecting on what lies ahead for real estate industry, Kowalski says, “Certainly things have changed considerably from last year. Who knew four hurricanes would hit the state and so many would be affected? My top priority is getting our members (and FAR) back on their feet.”

He says that the 2005 leadership team will work to help Florida Realtors prosper, grow their businesses and gain even more value from their association memberships. “The key to success -- whether it involves legislative goals, public policy issues, improved Realtor education or revamping services for members -- is going to be how well FAR involves and serves its members, ” Kowalski says.

The Florida Association of Realtors (FAR), the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, continuing education, research and legislative representation to its more than 120,000 members in 70 boards/associations.
