Florida Realtors® Honor Rep. Don Brown With Special 2005 President’s Award

ORLANDO, Fla., October 2005 -- The Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), has presented Representative Don Brown (R-DeFuniak Springs) with its first ever President’s Award, recognizing his efforts on behalf of Florida’s property owners and his outstanding legislative achievements. 

2005 FAR President Frank Kowalski said, "FAR recognizes Rep. Brown for his support of private property rights and his efforts to advance legislation that will better serve residents throughout the state. We appreciate his continued commitment to affordability and availability of housing, maintaining private property rights, protecting the environment and preserving the quality of life of all Floridians." 

An insurance agent, Brown serves as chairman of the House State Administration Council. 

Rep. Brown is being honored with this special award in recognition of his hard work and three-year commitment to the Commercial Real Estate Lien Act, as well as his continued dedication to issues affecting private property owners. The Commercial Real Estate Lien Act now gives real estate professionals involved in a commercial transaction a mechanism -- besides the courts -- to enforce commission agreements.
