Cooper City Realtor Installed as Treasurer of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Charles J. “Chuck” Bonfiglio, broker-owner with Century 21 AAA Realty Inc. in Cooper City, has been installed as 2005 treasurer of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association with more than 120,000 members.
Bonfiglio is a member of the Realtor Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale. He has served his local association in numerous capacities, serving on most committees and chairing several of those committees. In 2004, he was president of the local organization. He has also received outstanding service awards from both the Fort Lauderdale association and the former Hollywood Board of Realtors. On the state level, Bonfiglio served FAR as a district vice president in 1991 and has chaired a number of committees for the state association, including Building, Legislative and MLS. He is also a director for the National Association of Realtors®.
Bonfiglio has been active in a number of community, social and civic organizations, including the Broward Business Club, Broward County Crime Stoppers and the Town of Davie Joint Economic Development Steering Committee. He has served on the Town of Davie Water Advisory Board and on the Broward County Zoning Board. In 2003 and 2004, he was named Easter Seals Broward County Humanitarian of the Year.
Reflecting on what lies ahead for the real estate industry in 2005, Bonfiglio says that insurance issues will loom large during the upcoming legislative session. “We need to look at natural disaster insurance on a national scale, if possible, or certainly at the state level, and find ways to make it happen,” he says. “Homeowner’s insurance is another issue because the skyrocketing price is only going to get worse because of the hurricanes.”
The Florida Association of Realtors (FAR), the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, continuing education, research and legislative representation to its more than 120,000 members in 70 boards/associations.
