Florida Realtors® Name Senator Daniel Webster As 2004 Legislator of Year Co-Recipient

ORLANDO, Fla., Jan. 11, 2004 -- The Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), has named Senator Daniel Webster, (R-Winter Garden), as "2004 Legislator of the Year" in the Florida Senate. Representative Don Brown, (R-DeFuniak Springs), was also named as a co-recipient of the award for the Florida House. 

2004 FAR President Russell Grooms said, "FAR has enjoyed a close working relationship with Senator Webster since he first began serving in the Florida Legislature as a state representative in 1980. He is a firm supporter of private property rights and is very aware of the issues that affect Realtors and the business community." 

As the chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation and Economic Development, Senator Webster was honored for being the leading force in the reauthorization of the William E. Sadowski Trust Funds, which provide a dedicated revenue source for affordable housing programs statewide. He also was instrumental in the passage of several Realtor-supported legislative initiatives.

The Florida Association of Realtors (FAR), the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, continuing education, research and legislative representation to its more than 120,000 members in 70 boards/associations.
