Fort Lauderdale Realtor Takes Office As Treasurer
of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2009 – Summer Greene, regional manager with Prudential Florida 1st Realty in Fort Lauderdale, has been installed as the 2009 treasurer of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association with more than 125,000 members.

Greene has an MBA with a concentration in accounting, which she says gives her an additional level of expertise in her new role as treasurer.

“Most recently, I participated in an intense revamping and prioritizing of the FAR budget, cutting back on expenses and focusing in on other sources of revenue for the state association. This has served to better prepare me having knowledge of how our current systems work,” she says.

Active in residential brokerage, Greene served as secretary in 2008 for FAR. Greene is a former president of the Realtor® Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale and, since 1994, has chaired and served on numerous committees for her local association. In 2003, she was honored as the association’s Realtor of the Year.

A Certified Residential Broker (CRB), Greene has served as a FAR director since 1995 and a director of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) since 2001, plus has been a member of various committees on the state and national levels.

In the community, she is a former board member of the Stranahan House and is presently serving on the board of directors for the Reliance Housing Foundation.

In her new role as FAR treasurer, Greene wants “to continue being the voice of reason in Tallahassee and Washington, because the issues we advocate are the issues that benefit all Floridians. We will continue to take the lead to lobby for property tax relief, insurance relief, health insurance and water quality issues, in addition to other areas that directly impact the quality of life for our residents.”

The Florida Association of Realtors, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, continuing education, research and legislative representation to its 125,000 members in 67 boards/associations.
