Tallahassee Realtor® Installed As District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., January 2009 – Patti Ketcham, owner/broker of Ketcham Realty Group Inc. in Tallahassee, has been installed as District 8 vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Tallahassee Board of Realtors, Ketcham will serve her fellow professionals in District 8, which encompasses Holmes, Washington, Jackson, Calhoun, Gulf, Franklin, Liberty, Gadsden, Leon, Wakulla, Jefferson, Madison, Taylor, Lafayette, Gilchrist, Levy and Dixie counties.

Active in residential and commercial brokerage, Ketcham served as the 2008 president for the Tallahassee Board of Realtors, its 2007 president-elect and as a director in 2006. She has chaired or served on many of the organization’s committees, including Grievance, Standard Forms, MLS and Professional Development committees, along with the New Member Council. She participated in her local board’s Graduate Leadership Class and has served on many task forces.

Ketcham also serves a FAR instructor for Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) and Continuing Education courses. Additionally, she is a member of two Georgia real estate boards and the Georgia Association of Realtors.

Ketcham also has had strong leadership roles during a previous career in the mortgage banking industry. She was the first female president of the Tallahassee Mortgage Bankers Association. She served as the Regional Governor for Florida Mortgage Bankers Association, a member of State Affordable Housing Study Commission, Code Magistrate for the City of Tallahassee and is the current chair of the Premier Bank Community Board.

As FAR district vice president, Ketcham says hopes to motivate other Realtors by example. “I am one of those Realtors that has lived through challenging times in the industry: double digit interest rates, the S&L crisis, the crazy rules that have come and gone,” she says. “From my perspective, you realize it really is about one transaction at a time, one family at a time. And, we will all be okay if we remember that,” she says.

The Florida Association of Realtors®, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its 125,000 members in 67 local boards/associations throughout Florida.
