Miramar Realtor® Installed As District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, Fla., January 2009 – Carlos Cruz, sales manager, LMG Realty Inc. in Miramar, has been installed as District 4 vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches, Cruz will serve his fellow professionals in District 4, which encompasses Miami-Dade County and the Florida Keys.
Active in residential, commercial and property management, Cruz is a past president of his local association’s board of governors. He has been involved in affordable housing issues affecting the region, both as a real estate professional and as a volunteer with groups like Habitat for Humanity and the Senior Citizens Task Force.
On the state level, Cruz has served on FAR’s Board of Directors and its Public Policy Committee in 2008. Since 2000, he has been a member of FAR’s housing, international and communications committees. He also has worked on various housing issues committees for the National Association of Realtors (NAR). Cruz served as CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) State President in 2007 and is the 2009 CRS Representative for the Bahamas, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
In the community, Cruz served as vice president of his local chapter of Rotary International in 2007-08. He was a member of the board of directors for a local high school between 2002 and 2005, and has been active with his church.
As a FAR district vice president, Cruz wants “to show the tools, advantages, education and benefits of FAR” to Realtor members. He also wants to increase communication between FAR and local Realtor associations, while creating awareness for attainable housing opportunities, “by working with FAR, local associations, developers, financial institutions, local governments, individual Realtors and the public.”
The Florida Association of Realtors®, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its 125,000 members in 67 local boards/associations throughout Florida.
