Tequesta Realtor® Installed As District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, Fla., January 2009 – Phyllis A. Choy, Realtor and director of sales, Water Pointe Realty Group in Tequesta, has been installed as District 3 vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Jupiter-Tequesta-Hobe Sound (JTHS) Association of Realtors, Choy will serve her fellow professionals in District 3, which encompasses Martin, Okeechobee, Glades, Palm Beach, Indian River and St. Lucie counties.
Active in recruiting, teaching, training and mentoring Realtors daily as sales director, Choy served as 2007 president of their Regional MLS Inc. She was 2004 president of her local association and its 2003 Realtor of the Year. Choy also has chaired and served on numerous JTHS committees, including Public Policy, Community Affairs, Professional Achievement and Certified Code of Ethics.
In the community, she has worked with the debate team in the Palm Beach County School System since 1997, and is a founding member of the local Toastmasters Club. Choy is a member of the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches and a member of the Women’s Council of Realtors.
As a FAR district vice president, Choy sees her role as the extension or link between each association within the district. “The spirit of cooperation within the seven associations in District 3 has clearly been demonstrated in terms of volunteerism and leadership,” she says. “Our profession is unique in that it is made up of volunteers who care enough to give above and beyond what is expected. My success and experience has been predicated on optimism, passion, caring and understanding, regardless of market conditions. Realtors want to know that ‘Yes, it can’ happen, and I am here to share the road of success with anyone who wants to travel it with me.”
The Florida Association of Realtors®, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its 125,000 members in 67 local boards/associations throughout Florida.
