Bonita Springs Realtor® Elected District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
ORLANDO, FL — Betty Jean Christensen, owner/broker, Dove Realty, Inc. in Bonita Springs, has been elected District 5 vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Bonita Springs-Estero Association of Realtors and the Naples Area Board of Realtors®, Christensen will serve her fellow professionals in District 5, which encompasses Lee, Collier and Hendry counties.
“We are looking at a changing market in our region as sales are slowing and inventories are growing,” she says. “The rising costs of construction materials, land and labor are forcing up the prices of new homes, and builders will need to be cautious in the coming year.”
Active in residential and commercial brokerage, as well as rentals and property management, Christensen served as 2004 president of the Bonita Springs-Estero Board of Realtors®. She is also a FAR director, a director of the National Association of Realtors®, and a director of the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs Noon.
Christensen brings a strong background in building to her role as FAR district vice president. “I was raised in a builder’s family, and I’ve worked with major builders, including one of the top companies in the U.S.,” she says. “In my 30-year career, I’ve done developments and been a builder; in fact, I’ve done everything from selling dirt to selling the final product.”
As a FAR vice president, Christensen will focus on Realtor® education, training and involvement in vital housing-related issues in the region. As real estate professionals, Realtors® seek to improve the availability and affordability of housing, while helping people from all walks of life achieve the American dream.
The Florida Association of Realtors®, the voice for real estate in Florida, provides programs, services, ongoing education, research and legislative representation to its more than 155,000 members in 68 local boards/associations throughout the state.
