South Daytona Realtor® Elected District Vice President
of Florida’s Largest Professional Association
 

ORLANDO, FL — Shawn Goepfert, broker/owner, Ideal Realty of Volusia Inc. in South Daytona, has been elected District 2 vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the Daytona Beach Area Association of Realtors®, Goepfert will serve his fellow professionals throughout District 2, which encompasses Volusia and Brevard counties.

“Our biggest regional challenge is the affordability of homes for the average employee,” he says. “My wife is a teacher and I understand how hard it is for people to qualify for housing. Even with low mortgage rates, appreciation has priced many people out of the market.”

Active in residential and commercial brokerage, property management, appraising and developing, Goepfert served as 2005 president of the Daytona Beach association, and has been a FAR director since 2004. He is also a member of the New Smyrna Beach Board of Realtors®, the Flagler County Association of Realtors®, the Port Orange-South Daytona Rotary Club, the Mid Florida Housing Partnership board, the Port Orange/South Daytona Chamber of Commerce and the Children's Home Society.

Goepfert brings extensive team-building experience to his role as FAR district vice president. “One of my strengths is rallying the troops,” he says. “As a youngster I orchestrated football and baseball games, and I’ve been a coach and a manager all my life. As long as I can remember, I’ve been building teams where people help each other.”

As a FAR vice president, Goepfert will focus on Realtor® education, training and involvement in vital housing-related issues in the region. As real estate professionals, Realtors® seek to improve the availability and affordability of housing, while helping people from all walks of life achieve the American dream.
