Fort Lauderdale Realtor Takes Office As Secretary
of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 4, 2008 – Summer Greene, regional manager with Prudential Florida 1st Realty in Fort Lauderdale, has been installed as the 2008 secretary of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association with more than 150,000 members.

Active in management, training and residential sales, Greene is a former president of the Realtor® Association of Greater Fort Lauderdale and chair of its Affordable Housing Task Force.

A Certified Residential Broker (CRB), Greene has served as an FAR director since 1995 and a director of the National Association of Realtors® since 2001. In the community, she is a board member of the Reliance Housing Foundation and former board member of Stranahan House, the historic downtown Fort Lauderdale museum.

In her new FAR role, Greene says she will advocate for meaningful property tax relief, as well increased availability of affordable housing.  “These are key issues for all Florida communities,” she says.  “Fortunately, in terms of property insurance, I think the markets are on the right track, and we will start realizing deeper rate reductions this year.”

Greene believes Florida’s Realtors® provide an invaluable service to their clients and local communities.  “Every day provides a new opportunity to help someone else be a part of the American dream,” she says. “That could be homeownership, investment home, vacation residence or a new business opportunity.”
