Edgewater Realtor® Installed as District Vice President of Florida’s Largest Professional Association

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 4, 2008 – Sandra Smith Miller, sales associate-manager, Exit Realty New Smyrna Beach in Edgewater has been installed as District 2 vice president of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association. A member of the New Smyrna Beach Board of Realtors®, Miller will serve her fellow professionals throughout District 2, which encompasses Volusia and Brevard counties.

“Finding a way to reduce real estate taxes and insurance premiums to a reasonable amount is the paramount challenge in our district,” she says. “We also need to convince citizens to get more involved in their communities and participate in the decisions that will determine their future.”

Active in residential brokerage and a specialist in waterfront homes and vacant land, Miller served as 2006 president of the New Smyrna Beach Board and has been a FAR director since 2005. She is also a board member of the Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce and active in the Relay for Life Team, March of Dimes and Habitat for Humanity.

Miller brings extensive industry experience to her role as FAR district vice president. “Realtors can take a proactive role in their communities to protect private property rights,” she says. “They also can use their experience and informational tools to help sellers and buyers understand current trends in the real estate market.”

As a FAR vice president, Miller will focus on Realtor education, training and involvement in vital housing-related issues in the region. As real estate professionals, Realtors seek to improve the availability and affordability of housing, while helping people from all walks of life achieve the American dream.
