ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 4, 2008— Robert “Bob” S. Hudgens, broker-owner, Century 21 Coastal Realty Services in Fort Walton Beach, has been installed as the 2008 treasurer of the Florida Association of Realtors® (FAR), the state’s largest professional association with more than 150,000 members.
A member of the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors®, Hudgens has served the local organization in numerous capacities, including 2001 president. He was named its Realtor® of the Year in 2004. On the state level, Hudgens has been an FAR director since 2000. He chairs the Finance Committee and is a member of the executive and technology research committees. He has been a director of the National Association of Realtors® since 2005.
In the community, Hudgens is past president of the Fort Walton Beach Kiwanis Club, and a past chairman and member of the city's board of adjustment. He is also a charter trustee of the Boys & Girls Club of the Emerald Coast Foundation, and active on the advisory councils for his children's schools.
In his new FAR role, Hudgens plans to be an active advocate for property tax reform, insurance rate reductions and smart growth principles. “We are committed to being involved in quality of life issues as they relate to community development and private property rights,” he says. “Realtors® will continue to remain leaders in the local and regional communities they serve.”
